              Klarna FAQs

              Klarna - UK

              What is Klarna?

              Klarna is an installment feature that allows you to pay for your order with 3 equal payments. The first payment is withdrawn when you submit your order, the remaining 2 payments are scheduled every 30 days. Using Klarna is as simple as shopping as usual and proceeding to checkout. Choose Klarna as your payment method, and you'll be directed to the Klarna website to register and provide payment details. You must meet additional eligibility requirements to qualify. If you’ve used Klarna before, just log in to your Klarna account. With Klarna, you have the flexibility to pay in 3 equal installments every 30 days. There is zero interest and no additional fees when you pay on time. Payments are taken automatically, or you can log into the Klarna app anytime to make a payment. You can also view your orders and manage account details after your order has been processed in the Klarna app. Click here for more FAQ's about Klarna!

              What happens if I'm unable to make payments to Klarna on time?

              If you paid with the “Pay in 3 Instalments” plan, Klarna will automatically attempt to collect your second instalment from the debit or credit card that you entered at checkout. If the payment cannot be collected on the scheduled due date, Klarna will make a further attempt to automatically collect payment 7 days later and again in an additional 7 days. Should the last payment attempt fail, Klarna will add the failed amount to your final instalment. Final Instalment: Klarna will automatically attempt to collect your final instalment from the debit or credit card that you entered at checkout. If the payment cannot be collected on the scheduled due date, Klarna will make a further attempt to automatically collect payment 7 days later and again in an additional 7 days. If the payment for the final instalment fails, Klarna will issue a statement for the full outstanding order amount which will become payable 15 days later. You may be charged fees or interest for late and/or missed repayment(s). Your credit score will not be impacted by using Klarna’s ‘Pay in 3 instalments’ product even if you have failed to pay on time. However, if you fail to make a payment you will be in default, and may be unable to use the service in the future. If you do not pay for your purchase, Klarna may engage with an external debt collection agency to collect any outstanding funds as a last resort. Klarna's Pay in 3 / Pay in 30 days are unregulated credit agreements. Borrowing more than you can afford or paying late may negatively impact your financial status and ability to obtain credit. 18+, UK residents only. Subject to status. Ts&Cs and late fees apply.

              How do I return an item purchased using instalments with Klarna?

              If you have changed your mind, you can return your item(s) by mail. Please note that we do not accept in-store returns for online orders. Skechers.co.uk orders paid with Klarna, must be returned by mail in order to receive a refund to the original form of payment. Please check that your return meets our Return policy here. Klarna will be notified of your return and will process the appropriate refunds. Log into your Klarna account and select “Report a return” to pause your statement. Klarna will adjust your invoice as soon as your return has been processed.

              When will my items be delivered if I use instalments with Klarna?

              Klarna orders are delivered per our standard shipping time frame after completing your order online.

              What happens if I have a partial refund, and how does that affect my Klarna payments?

              If the partial refund is greater than the remaining balance of your order, the refund amount will be credited to the original payment method. If the partial refund is less than the remaining balance of your order, the amount will be deducted from the outstanding balance and spread evenly across the remaining payments. You can view any updates to your payment plan in the Klarna app. I have not received my order.

              I have not received my order. What happens to my statement?

              You do not need to pay the statement until you have received your order. Email Customer Service for an update on the delivery. Make sure to log into your Klarna account and “Report a problem” to pause your statement until you’ve received your order.

               My Klarna statement is incorrect. What should I do?

              If your statement does not match your order details, please email Customer Service directly for a correction of your statement. Make sure to log into your Klarna account and “Report a problem” to pause your statement until the details have been corrected

                                                How should I clean my SKECHERS shoes?

                                                Machine Washable Shoes: Any style with the "Machine Washable" icon shown on the product detail page can be safely machine washed with detergent on the gentle cycle and air-dried, we suggest placing them in a pillowcase or laundry bag before washing in machine. Please wash shoes one at a time to avoid discoloration. Do not place shoes in dryer. For shoes with Skechers Memory Foam™ insoles, allow shoes and insoles to air dry for 10 to 12 hours to ensure the insoles are fully dry. Apply a protectant such as Skechers Water Proofer Spray to protect the shoes from water and stains.

                                                Foamies: Machine wash or hand wash according to instructions on product page for style. If hand wash, use cold water and air dry in shade. Do not place in dryer and do not leave out in the sun.

                                                Shoes Not Marked as Machine Washable: To maintain the quality of your purchase of our shoes, we do not recommend machine washing. We suggest the following steps for any minor cleaning to our shoes:

                                                1. Remove excess dirt from the upper and outsole by using a small brush or towel.

                                                2. Create a soapy mixture by combining warm water and a small amount (a few drops) laundry detergent.

                                                3. Dip the brush or cloth into the soapy mixture. Wipe down the affected area. Apply a small amount of clean, warm water with the brush or cloth and brush/wipe off the excess soap.

                                                4. Allow shoes to air dry.

                                                Leather Shoes: Apply a protectant such as Skechers Water Proofer Spray to protect the shoes from water and stains before wearing in wet conditions. Use a leather cleaning lotion or spray such as Skechers Athletic Cleanser to clean. Apply a leather lotion or oil periodically to keep the leather supple. Do not machine wash leather shoes.

                                                Suede or Nubuck Shoes: Brush dry suede/nubuck shoes with a soft brush or dry rubber sponge to remove any clinging dirt. Regular use of a soft brush will keep the nap of the suede free from dust. Stubborn stains should be removed with a commercial stain remover suitable for suede. DO NOT put in the washing machine or dryer. DO NOT immerse in water. Apply a protectant such as Skechers Water Proofer Spray to protect the shoes from water and stains before wearing in wet conditions. Use a suede/nubuck cleaning product to clean shoes. Brush with a suede brush for best results.

                                                Light-Up Shoes: Machine washing light-up shoes is not advised as it may damage the lights.  Clean with mild soap, warm water and a soft cloth.

                                                Keeping Shoes Fresh: Apply a deodorizing spray such as Skechers Odor Eliminator Spray to keep shoes fresh and odor-free.

Unless expressly stated otherwise here or elsewhere on Skechers.co.uk, or specified in the terms and conditions for the specific promotion, Members will each earn ten (10) Points per one pound sterling (£1) spent on eligible purchases. If a Member returns purchased items, the Points earned on the purchase of those items will be deducted from the Member’s Point total. Skechers USA employs a team of degreed and highly experienced tax professionals in the head office who advise the company’s officers and upper management on global tax matters and tax policy. Global tax policy is set in the US by the vice president of tax in consultation with management and in consultation with external tax advisors in the US, the UK, and throughout the world. Tax policy is implemented locally in the UK by the Skechers UK finance team in consultation with local tax advisors who also assist Skechers UK with tax compliance and related tax inquiries. Skechers UK and its tax advisors assess tax risks on an ongoing basis, reviewing the tax implications of material business transactions and the impact of new legislation. As part of their annual and quarterly audits, Skechers USA and Skechers UK review their global tax positions and transfer pricing policies to identify and address any current or potential tax risks. This quarterly review is conducted by Skechers USA’s tax team in the US in consultation with Skechers UK’s local finance department and with Skechers UK’s local tax advisors. To the extent any UK tax risks are identified, the issue and actions to be taken would be discussed with management, with external tax advisors, and with Skechers USA’s Audit Committee. Skechers USA and Skechers UK frequently seek external tax expertise to address the tax risks associated with significant new tax developments (such as recent changes in UK tax law). This tax expertise is further supported by the hiring and ongoing training of qualified tax and finance professionals to implement any action required by new tax risks as they may arise.

                                                                    Attitude to tax planning and acceptable level of tax risk

                                                                    Skechers USA and Skechers UK both endeavor to conduct operations in a tax-efficient manner while ensuring compliance with both local and international tax law and regulations. All related party transactions are conducted at “arm’s length,” and in compliance with transfer pricing regulations. Skechers USA and Skechers UK both work to minimize their tax risks where possible, and to the extent it is deemed necessary, to address any underlying uncertainty through advance pricing agreements with local tax authorities, and in some cases through the provision of tax reserves to address any potential exposure. To date, Skechers UK has not needed to enter into any advance pricing agreements or provide for any tax reserves.

If you comply with the instructions above, we will refund you the price you paid for the products including the cost of delivery of the product to you, by the method you used for payment. However, we may make deductions from the price, as described below.

                                                                      Deductions from refunds if you are exercising your right to change your mind. If we refund you the price paid before we are able to inspect the products and later discover you have handled them in an unacceptable way, you must pay us an appropriate amount.

                                                                          During the purchase process on our Website when your personal information is collected, you will be asked to indicate your preferences for receiving direct marketing communications from Skechers via email or text. The marketing communications contain special offers that might become available, and other information Skechers believes will be of interest to Website visitors. Skechers may also analyse your Personal Identifiers, Purchase History and Device and Usage Information to form a view which products may be of interest to you so that we can then send you relevant marketing communications.  Skechers will send these types of communications to you only if you opt-in to receive Skechers marketing communications (by registering to receive our email or text updates, during the purchase process, registering for the Skechers Plus™ program, signing up in person at a Skechers event, or by contacting our customer service department and specifically requesting to be added to our marketing list(s)).

                                                                          Opt-out / Unsubscribe

                                                                          We will process requests as promptly as possible but it takes some time to put opt-outs in effect, so you may still receive electronic communications from Skechers for several weeks after your request is received.

                                                                          Please note this opt-out does not apply to emails sent by Skechers related to your orders such as order and shipment confirmations, service-related communications that are essential for administrative or customer service purposes (for example relating to order confirmations, updates to our Terms and Conditions, checking that your contact details are correct, and Skechers’ email responses to enquiries you make online).

                                                                          1. Data Retention

                                                                          We will only retain your personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements. We may retain your personal information for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to our relationship with you.

                                                                          To determine the appropriate retention period for personal information, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal information, the purposes for which we process your personal information and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or other requirements.

                                                                          By law we have to keep basic information about our customers (including Personal Identifiers and Payment Details) for six years after they cease being customers for tax purposes.

                                                                          In some circumstances you can ask us to delete your personal information: see paragraph 11 below for further information.

                                                                          In some circumstances we will anonymise your personal information (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes, in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.

                                                                          1. Your Legal Rights

                                                                          Under UK data protection laws, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. You may:

                                                                          • Withdraw consent to processing at any time where the basis for processing is consent. However, this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent. If you withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide certain products or services to you. We will advise you if this is the case at the time you withdraw your consent;
                                                                          • Request access to your personal information (commonly known as a "subject access request"). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it;
                                                                          • Request erasure of your personal information in certain circumstances. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal information where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. You also have the right to ask us to delete or remove your personal information where you have successfully exercised your right to object to processing (see below), where we may have processed your information unlawfully or where we are required to erase your personal information to comply with local law. Note, however, that we may not always be able to comply with your request of erasure for specific legal reasons which will be notified to you, if applicable, at the time of your request.
                                                                          • Request that Skechers rectify inaccurate data or to complete incomplete data, though we may need to verify the accuracy of the new personal information you provide to us;
                                                                          • Request restriction of processing of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of your personal information in one of the following scenarios:
                                                                            • Ii you want us to establish the accuracy of the personal information;
                                                                            • where our use of your personal information is unlawful but you do not want us to erase it;
                                                                            • where you need us to hold your personal information data even if we no longer require it as you need it to establish, exercise or defend legal claims; or
                                                                            • you have objected to our use of your personal information but we need to verify whether we have overriding legitimate grounds to use it;
                                                                          • Object to processing of your personal information where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) as the legal basis for that particular use of your personal information (including carrying out profiling based on our legitimate interests). In some cases, we may demonstrate that we have compelling legitimate grounds to process your information which override your right to object; and
                                                                          • Request the transfer of your personal information to you or to a third party. We will provide to you, or a third party you have chosen, your personal information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. Note that this right only applies to automated information which you initially provided consent for us to use or where we used the information to perform a contract with you.

                                                                          These rights are not absolute and may be subject to one or more exceptions.

                                                                          Exercising Your Access, Data Portability, and Deletion Rights

                                                                          We reserve the right to deny data subject requests if we believe the request is subject to one or more exceptions or if the request would violate any legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

                                                                          In order to protect your privacy, Skechers takes steps to verify your identity before granting data subject access requests. Skechers will accomplish this through the use of passwords and personal information. We will only use personal information provided in a verifiable consumer request to verify the requestor's identity or authority to make the request.

                                                                          You have the right to make a complaint at any time to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection issues (www.ico.org.uk). We would, however, appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns before you approach the ICO so please contact us in the first instance.

                                                                          Response Timing and Format

                                                                          We endeavor to respond to a verifiable consumer request within 1 month of its receipt. If we require more time (up to 3 months in total), we will inform you as soon as possible and within the first month of receiving your request, of the reason and extension period in writing.

                                                                          If you have an account with us that is linked to an email address, we will deliver our written response to that email address. If you do not have an email address registered with us, we will deliver our written response by mail or electronically, at your option. If applicable, the response we provide will also explain the reasons we cannot comply with a request.

                                                                          For data portability requests, we will select a format to provide your personal information that is readily useable and should allow you to transmit the information from one entity to another entity without hindrance.

                                                                          We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded.

                                                                                We do not verify that reviews have been submitted by customers who have actually used or purchased the product. However, reviewers must confirm their agreement to our review platform’s terms and conditions, which include the requirement that reviewers are only allowed to submit a review if they have had a personal experience with our products or services. Those terms and conditions also state that reviewers should not submit a review if they are yet to make a purchase or have no experience with the specific product or service or with Skechers.

                                                                                We publish both positive and negative reviews on each product page. However, we have the ability to moderate and filter reviews before publication, including to remove reviews which breach our review platform’s terms and conditions or are not relevant or related to that particular product.

                                                                                Anyone can flag a review on the following grounds: profanity, wrong product, spam, duplicate, copyright violation, not a product review, customer image, or on other grounds. Flagged reviews are considered for removal.

                                                                                We do not commission fake reviews, or manipulate or alter existing reviews, or incentivize reviewers to post positive reviews.

                                                                                We do not publish reviews that have been sponsored or influenced by a contractual relationship with partners.
